Previous year pro's came with upgraded bilstein shocks built for the tundra. I don't do a lot of off roading living on the coast but love the option to be prepared.

I'm getting ready to order a new tacoma(1st toyota), and could use a little advice on picking a model.

If you're going to lift it and, possibly, replace wheels, what's the point. The skid plate will mount onto the sport since the frames are the same. For many people it is an easy decision to buy a toyota tacoma.

Off road tuned bilstein shocks ( heavier dampening rate) progressive rate front coil springs off road cambered rearspings to compensate for wheel travel in offroad situations larger stabilizer bar so the bottom line is the trd sport has a smoother onroad ride while the trd off road is rougher on road, but more equiped for rough. Plate was around $86, bolts $0.71/ea.

The hard part is picking what one to get. What ever, i have seen double cab tundras in off road edition. This years pro isn't out yet but it is supposed to come with fox shocks.
